Parklife 2026 opened at Heaton Park with major performances, large crowds and an unexpected appearance from Manchester rapper Aitch.

The opening day of the festival benefited from clear skies and warm temperatures, creating favourable conditions for visitors throughout the site.

Performers across multiple stages entertained audiences from midday onwards, with early highlights including sets from Prospa and Josh Baker.

Festival organisers also introduced a range of new visitor experiences for 2026, adding to the event's established music programme.

Drum and bass remained one of the most popular genres of the day, with performances from BOU, 4am Kru and Nia Archives drawing significant crowds.

A major talking point came when Aitch appeared on stage during BOU's set before Skepta delivered one of the evening's most anticipated performances.

The night concluded with Sammy Virji headlining The Valley stage, joined by special guests and accompanied by a closing fireworks display.
