Road closures will be introduced around Broughton Park from Monday evening as the Jewish festival of Purim begins. Extra police resources will be deployed during the celebrations.
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that temporary road closures will be in place around Broughton Park and surrounding areas between 7pm on Monday 2 March and 1am on Wednesday 4 March.
The measures coincide with Purim, a Jewish festival marked by community gatherings and celebrations.
Police said they have been working with local authorities, Community Security Trust and Shomrim to review the full plans for the event, including the parade route and wider safety arrangements.
Chief Superintendent David Meeney, Gold Commander for the operation, said extra officers would be on duty throughout the period.
He said, "As with all large scale events, extra resources will be in place to allow the celebrations to take place safely, support the management of diverted traffic around the area, reassure local residents, and deal with any incidents swiftly.
"This increased presence is nothing to be concerned about and is simply to ensure everyone can go about their daily business.
"Our officers on the ground will be there to listen to any concerns and act on them, or incidents can be reported by calling us on 101, reporting via our LiveChat service, or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous. We encourage anyone who witnesses or is subject to anything, such as hate crime, to get in touch without delay."
Residents are advised to plan journeys in advance and allow extra time for travel while the closures are in place.
