Two men have been arrested after police responded to reports of a firearms discharge at a home in Salford earlier this week.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that two men, aged 24 and 28, are in custody following an incident on Thursday 4 December at a property on Wally Square, Salford.
Officers were called to the scene at around 6.50pm after reports that a firearm had been discharged. It is believed two men arrived on an electric bike before one of them approached the property and fired a shot.
A woman in her 20s sustained a minor injury during the incident, although police say the cause of the injury is still under investigation.
Both suspects have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. They remain in custody while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Louise Edwards of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “Any report of a firearms discharge is shocking and is something that will never be tolerated on the streets of Greater Manchester.
“While we are still establishing the exact circumstances, this was a dangerous act that could have resulted in a much worse or deadly outcome. No-one should feel unsafe or threatened in their own homes.”
Police are continuing to appeal for information and are particularly interested in any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact GMP via 101 or the Live Chat service at https://www.gmp.police.uk quoting log 2932 of 04/12/25. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
GMP said there is currently no believed wider threat to the local community.
