Greater Manchester’s biggest volunteer-led LGBTQ+ event, The Pink Picnic, will return to Peel Park in Salford on Saturday 13 June 2026, with a record turnout expected
Salford Pride has confirmed that The Pink Picnic will return to Peel Park on Saturday 13 June 2026, marking the fifteenth year of the North West’s largest community-led LGBTQ+ celebration.
Organised entirely by volunteers through the charity Salford Pride, the event has grown from a small grassroots gathering into a much-loved festival drawing thousands of visitors each year. Over 6,500 people attended in 2025, and organisers are now preparing for more than 8,000 in 2026.
Chair of Salford Pride, Marcus Taylor, said the milestone year will be marked with “our biggest event to date,” thanking volunteers for their long-standing commitment: “The Pink Picnic is a community event that wouldn’t exist without our amazing volunteers. Every single person who has helped over the past 15 years deserves a massive thank you.”
The event promises a family-friendly day of live music, stage acts, market stalls, food, drink and community spirit. Alongside entertainment, it also serves as a powerful platform for equality, inclusion and visibility for Salford’s LGBTQ+ community and allies.
The picnic is also consciously eco-friendly, continuing its pledge to eliminate single-use packaging. Attendees are encouraged to bring food and drinks in reusable containers and use the free refill stations on site.
Following community feedback, this year’s rules have also been relaxed to allow adults to bring up to four cans of alcohol on their first entry. However, re-entry with alcohol is not permitted, as organisers aim to keep the event safe and respectful for all ages.
Tickets are on sale now at www.pinkpicnic.org.uk
