RHS dishes up a tasty autumn with garden-to-table celebrations across the UK

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is celebrating the autumn harvest with a vibrant programme of food-themed events at all five of its gardens this September and October, spotlighting the journey from plot to plate.

Running between 6 September and 12 October 2025, the RHS's ‘Plot to Plate’ programme will bring a mix of cookery demos, edible garden tours, and local food markets to each garden, with a firm focus on sustainability, local produce and seasonal cooking.

RHS Garden Harlow Carr, North Yorkshire (6–7 September)
Kicking things off in Harrogate, visitors to RHS Garden Harlow Carr can expect cookery demonstrations from culinary experts including Sam Hamrebtan of The Life Larder. The weekend will also feature street food stalls, family activities, live music and hands-on cooking for children. Entry for adults starts at £15.85; children’s tickets are £5, with under-fives and members going free.

RHS Garden Bridgewater, Greater Manchester (13–21 September)
Closer to home for Rochdale residents, RHS Garden Bridgewater will host nine days of food-filled festivities. Visitors can take part in guided foraging sessions, orchard tours, and creative workshops like plate decorating. The Salford-based garden will also offer kitchen garden tours and expert advice on growing and cooking with home-grown produce. Adult tickets begin at £14.50.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall, Essex (3–5 October)
For three days in early October, RHS Hyde Hall will offer seasonal displays, cooking demonstrations, and a food market featuring local cheeses, oils, spices and drinks. A centrepiece of the event will be the RHS Autumn competition, featuring over 150 classes of fruit, flowers and vegetables.

RHS Garden Rosemoor, North Devon (4–5 October)
Rosemoor’s weekend celebration will include apple tastings, guided edible garden tours, cooking demos and horse-logging demonstrations. Younger visitors can get involved in flower crown crafts, marshmallow s’mores, and adventure play with The Kids Adventure Company.

RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey (8–12 October)
Wisley’s finale will see Seven Acres transformed into a sprawling food and drink market. Visitors can also tour the World Food Garden, attend talks and demos at Hilltop Garden Room, and enjoy live music. A plant nursery market rounds off the event.

Tickets for each event are priced similarly, with children’s access set at £5, and adult prices starting from £12.50 to £15.85 depending on location. All events are free to RHS members and under-fives.
