An 87-year-old woman has died following a collision involving her mobility scooter and a car in Salford, prompting an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.
Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is investigating a fatal incident that occurred on Manchester Road West in Little Hulton at around 11.14am on Thursday 27 November.
The collision involved a Volvo travelling westbound and a mobility scooter being used by an elderly woman, who was heading eastbound on the pavement. According to officers, the scooter unexpectedly began to cross the road before the collision took place.
The woman, 87, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she later died.
The SCIU is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, seen the vehicle beforehand, or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
