Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley to DJ at The Garden Bar in Chorlton

Actor and music fan Jeff Hordley will return to the decks this month as part of a new guest DJ series launching at The Garden Bar in Chorlton.

Best known for his long-standing role as Cain Dingle in ITV’s Emmerdale, Jeff Hordley is set to headline a free DJ night on Friday 28 November at the newly relaunched Garden Bar, formerly The Font.

The actor, who grew up in Oldham, has deep roots in Manchester’s music scene. Alongside his acting career, he has long been a passionate vinyl collector and has DJed at venues across the region. In the past, he presented a show on The Revolution 96.2 in Oldham with Stone Roses bassist Mani, The Smiths drummer Mike Joyce, and Inspiral Carpets keyboardist Clint Boon.

Ahead of his Chorlton set, Jeff paid tribute to Mani, who passed away earlier this year. “I’ll be dedicating the night to Mani. He was such a legend and a lovely soul,” he said.

Jeff will be playing a mix of indie, northern soul, funk and handpicked favourites from his personal collection. His set will run from 8.30pm until late, with free entry for all.

The event is the first in a new series at The Garden Bar, which has recently reopened under new ownership. The venue aims to become a local hub for food, music and community events. Upcoming plans include comedy nights, themed evenings and appearances from local and high-profile guest DJs.

Venue manager Jess Anderson said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Jeff join us and bring along some of his personal record collection. It means a lot to host someone who has such a genuine connection to Manchester’s music scene, and we know our guests will love it.”

The Garden Bar is located at 115–117 Manchester Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, M21 9PG. Food is served until 9pm and bookings are welcome. For reservations, call 0161 518 2227.
