Police have launched an investigation after an 87-year-old man was fatally struck by a car while crossing the road in Salford.
Emergency services were called to Great Cheetham Street East shortly before 5.45pm on Saturday 25 January, following reports of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a pedestrian.
The man, who has not yet been named, was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with officers. No arrests have been made, and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have dashcam, mobile phone, or CCTV footage from the area at the time.
