Clinton Baptiste, the ghost-whispering star of Phoenix Nights, is bringing his new comedy show to Salford Lads Club this December, and every penny raised will support local children and young people.
Comedy clairvoyant Clinton Baptiste will perform a one-night-only show at Salford Lads Club on Friday 5 December 2025, ahead of his 2026 national tour.
Best known for his outrageous spiritual readings and larger-than-life presence, Baptiste (played by comedian Alex Lowe) has become a cult figure since appearing on Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights. This work-in-progress event, titled Spectral Intercourse, promises never-before-seen material alongside his classic routines.
The show is a fundraiser for the Salford Lads and Girls Club, a registered charity that runs activities for more than 170 children and teenagers each week. All profits from the evening will help fund events, trips, and youth programmes.
“I’ve seen the future,” Clinton joked, “and it involves me, you, and a packed Salford Lads Club. The spirits are queuing already.”
Doors open at 6.30pm, with a support act at 8pm and Clinton taking the stage at 8.45pm. The club’s bar will stay open until 10.30pm. Tickets cost £29.
The historic Edwardian venue, famously featured in the inner sleeve of The Smiths' The Queen Is Dead album, has previously hosted names like John Cooper Clarke, Frank Sidebottom and John Shuttleworth.
Leslie Holmes, project manager at Salford Lads Club, said:
“This is a rare chance to see Clinton Baptiste up close in one of the most atmospheric venues in the North West. The original stage was built for choirs and musical hall acts, so this is very much in keeping with our history.”
Clinton’s next big show in Greater Manchester will be at The Lowry on Sunday 15 March 2026, but this Salford preview is set to offer fans an early taste of what’s to come, with added spiritual energy and charity spirit.
